Resolution 8801, Approving Additional Funding for the City Hall and <br />Community Center Parking Lots Mill & Overlay Project. <br /> <br />Interim Public Works Director Peterson requested the Council approve additional funding for the <br />City Hall and Community Center parking lots mill and overlay project. He commented on the <br />original contract with Bituminous Roadways and noted after the initial site inspection an <br />additional 440 feet of concrete was found to be needed, which results in an additional $17,348. <br />Staff recommended the Council approve the additional funding. <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause asked when the project would be completed. Interim Public <br />Works Director Peterson stated the contractor believes he can get the project done before Festival <br />in the Park. <br /> <br />Mayor Mueller questioned if the curb design would be changed. Interim Public Works Director <br />Peterson stated the curb design would not be changed. He commented on the snow removal plan <br />for the parking lot going forward. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Meehlhause. Resolution 8802, Accepting Improvements and Approving Final Payment for <br />the 2017 Seal Coating of Area D Project. <br /> <br />Interim Public Works Director Peterson requested the Council accept improvements and approve <br />the final payment for the 2017 seal coating for the Area D project. He explained this project was <br />approved in April by the Council and Pearson Brothers was awarded the contract. He reviewed <br />the roadways included in the Area D project and noted the project was completed in full by <br />Pearson Brothers and came in under the original estimate. Staff discussed the expense of the <br />project and recommended approval of the final payment. <br /> <br />Council Member Gunn questioned when the roadways would be striped. Interim Public Works <br />Director Peterson believed the striping would be completed in the next several weeks. <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause inquired if the joint powers agreement with the City of Coon <br />Rapids was benefiting the Mounds View. Interim Public Works Director Peterson commented <br />that the joint powers agreement was a benefit to the community as the City was receiving better <br />prices for their projects. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Meehlhause/Gunn.
