Reports of Staff. <br /> <br />Finance Director Beer stated he was contacted by Kennedy & Graven regarding a potential <br />conduit debt opportunity. He indicated a request was being made for $7.5 million and the City <br />would receive a fee of 1%. He asked if the Council was interested in pursuing this conduit debt <br />issuance. The consensus of the Council was to pursue the conduit debt issuance. <br /> <br />Finance Director Beer explained the initial date for the Council retreat would have to be amended <br />to ensure he and Interim City Administrator Zikmund could both attend. He proposed the <br />Council retreat be held on Wednesday, October 25th. The Council discussed potential Council <br />retreat dates and recommended the meeting be held on Monday, November 20th at Random Park <br />at 6:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Interim Public Works Director Peterson reported the mill and overlay of the parking lots at City <br />Hall and the Community Center would be completed on Monday, September 18th from 5:00 p.m. <br />to 7:00 p.m. He noted the Area I contractor was working on a punch list. <br /> <br />Interim Public Works Director Peterson provided the Council with an update on the construction <br />occurring at the new Public Works Facility. <br /> <br />Interim Public Works Director Peterson stated the storm sewer ditch along County Road I and <br />Silver Lake Road project was being pushed back to November and possibly even 2018. <br /> <br />Interim Public Works Director Peterson invited the public to attend an Open House meeting for <br />the Long Lake Road project on Monday, September 18th at the Mounds View Community <br />Center. He discussed the plans for this project, including the proposed bike lanes, in further <br />detail with the Council. <br /> <br />Interim Public Works Director Peterson reported he recently applied for a grant and was awarded <br />$65,000 for a playground. He explained the City had until December 2017 to spend these funds. <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause asked if staff any information regarding the anticipated completion <br />date for the County Road H project. Interim Public Works Director Peterson stated he was <br />uncertain when this project would be completed. <br /> <br />Mayor Mueller welcomed Interim City Administrator Zikmund to the City. <br /> <br />Interim City Administrator Zikmund expressed his appreciation to the Council for supporting his <br />employment with the City of Mounds View. He stated he was working to meet with all <br />department heads and staff members. He explained he would be providing the Council with his <br />work schedule for the remainder of September. <br /> <br />Interim City Administrator Zikmund stated at the October worksession meeting the Council <br />would be drafting an agenda for the Council retreat.
