Coordinator Bennett handed out a revised inventory of developed commercial and industrial property in Mounds View for the EDC's review and discussion. The inventory includes zoning, F "'r comprehensive plan designation, property I.D. #, Owner, lot size, land value and estimated property taxes payable in 1995. Coordinator Bennett notedseveral areas that will be changed and said she would hand out a revised copy at the next meeting to include properties that are in a tax increment district. B. Discussion of Bridves to Work Program Chairman Seipp gave an overview of a meeting held at the Burnsville Transit Center to discuss transportation issues. The Bridges to Work Program is an idea to link the labor pool in the inner cities to the need for workers in the suburbs through a coordinated transportation system. Currently, there is no central location whereby a company could pick up workers to transport them to the job site. The proposal includes a central North Suburb location, such as Roseville, which would serve as a collection point for companies that have a need to attract inner city workers. It was recommended that staff keep the EDC apprised of the program so that information can be given to Mounds View businesses. In addition, the EDC would like to have a meeting with the Metropolitan Transit System to see if an additional route may be developed for Highway 10 near the business park. If this is not possible, the EDC would like to review other opt out programs that could specifically benefit Mounds View residents and businesses access to the transit system. C. Discussion of Terms for EDC Member in 1996 Coordinator Bennett explained that there are three terms which expire in 1995. These terms may be reappointed for another term if the persons so desires. The terms that expire include Dan Nelson, Peg Mountin and Phil Seipp. Commissioner Mountin said that she would not be able to be reappointed for another year since her personal and educational commitments are increasing. Commissioner Seipp had not made a decision and said that he would be talking to the Mayor and would let Coordinator Bennett know prior to the next meeting. Coordinator Bennett said she would contact Commissioner Nelson. Coordinator Bennett asked for suggestions on candidates to fill vacancies on the EDC. Commissioner Carlson suggested a customer and resident who is a real estate agent named Bev Terhark. Other suggestions include resident Hank Ruggles and a representative from the Silver Lake Pointe Apartments. Coordinator Bennett will contact these people to see if they are interested in applying.
