B. Discussion of Fundraising Activities for Marketing Programs <br />Coordinator Bennett presented the "Pride Progress and Partnership" T-shirts and Sweatshirts <br />which were designed by Garment Graphics. Proceeds from sales go toward funding the <br />marketing program. Coordinator Bennett reported that she started with an inventory of 25 T- <br />shirts and sweatshirts and has sold 16 T-shirts and 4 Sweatshirts. <br />Suggestions for encouraging sale of T-shirts included advertising in the City Newsletter and <br />business newsletters, Selling at retail stores in Mounds View, Sell at New Market, Sell at retail <br />center events and encourage local businesses to purchase in bulk to give out to employees for <br />awards, casual day, etc. <br />C. Discussion of "Buv Mounds View First' Campaign <br />Coordinator Bennett explained the concept of a "Buy Mounds View First' Campaign to <br />encourage residents and employees of businesses to do their shopping in Mounds View. <br />Representatives from Mounds View Square and Silverview Plaza will assist in organizing the <br />program to included frequent purchaser programs, discounts for purchases, cross <br />merchandising, production of a map with a coupon book, etc. <br />D. Discussion of New/Expanded Publications <br />Coordinator Bennett reported that the City will be producing a Mounds View Business <br />Directory. It was suggested to send a survey to all businesses to verify information and to sell <br />advertising in the directory. If the directory is distributed to all residents and businesses in <br />Mounds View, the total readership would be approximately 6,500.
