EDC Minutes <br /> January 15,2010 <br /> Page 3 of 3 <br /> 8. REPORTS OF STAFF <br /> A. Saturn Dealership Update <br /> Ms. Steinmetz provided this update under Item 6A when the EDC discussed its 2010 <br /> priorities. She reminded the EDA about the public hearing at the January 25, 2010 City <br /> Council meeting. The City Council will be considering whether to allow an amendment to <br /> Saturn's Conditional Use Permit. The amendment would remove the requirement that new <br /> cars must be sold on the property. <br /> Motion/Second: Commissioner Johnson moved and Commissioner Belting seconded the <br /> motion that the EDC recommends that the City Council remove the requirement that new <br /> cars must be sold on the Saturn property. <br /> Motion Carried: 4 Ayes 0 Nays <br /> B. Update on Mounds View Snyders <br /> Ms. Steinmetz said that the Mounds View Snyders would be closing and that all <br /> prescriptions will be transferred to Walgreens this coming Thursday, January 21,2010. She <br /> said that the store itself would probably close at the end of February or sooner depending <br /> on how fast the remaining merchandise sells. <br /> Other <br /> Community Development Director Ken Roberts stated that the City is collecting nominations <br /> for the 2009 Citizen of the Year. The City Council will choose the winner in March who will <br /> be recognized at the Annual Town Hall Meeting on Monday evening, March 29, 2010. <br /> Ms. Steinmetz announced that the 12th Annual Home & Garden Show (the City of Mounds <br /> View is a sponsor)would be held on Saturday, February 27, 2010 at the Schwan Center in <br /> Blaine. The purpose is to promote home improvement. <br /> Commissioner Belting also reminded staff to inquire with the EDA about if the EDA is going <br /> to try to find out what the former Premium Stop property is worth. <br /> 9. UPCOMING EDC MEETING <br /> The next regular EDC meeting is scheduled for Friday, February 19, 2010 at 7:30am. <br /> 10.
