EDC Minutes <br />Oct. 15, 2010 <br />Page 2 of 3 <br />After much discussion, the EDC made the following recommendations to the EDA: <br />Motion/Second: Commissioner Helgemoe moved and Commissioner Belting seconded a <br />motion to recommend that the EDA eliminate the residency requirement component of the <br />loan criteria. <br />Motion Carried: 5 Ayes 0 Nays <br />Motion/Second: Commissioner Johnson moved and Commissioner Belting seconded a <br />motion to recommend that the EDA change the loan to value ratio to 100% for the Code <br />Enforcement and Emergency Deferred Loan options and that the EDA maintain the loan to <br />value ratio of 90% for the General Home Repair Loan option. <br />Motion Carried: 5 Ayes 0 Nays <br />7. REPORTS OF COMMISSIONERS <br />Commissioner Johnson announced that there would be a pancake breakfast tomorrow <br />morning at Moe's from 7:30 to 10:30am to support the Irondale Orchestra. <br />Commissioner Helgemoe announced that the Twin Cities North Chamber would be hosting <br />a Small Business Expo at The Mermaid next Tuesday, October 26th beginning at 5pm. <br />8. REPORTS OF STAFF <br />City staff provided the EDC with updates on the following items: <br />Update on Select Senior Living Project <br />The EDC discussed the importance of creating a trailway from the senior housing building <br />leading to area business. <br />Update on Sign Code Amendments <br />Community Development Director Ken Roberts mentioned that he hopes the changes to the <br />sign code will help to better serve Mounds View businesses. <br />Mounds View Business News <br />Ms. Steinmetz told the EDC that an employee of Mounds View's Midwest Motor Express, <br />Frank Dietz, recently received the Maintenance Professional of the Year award from the <br />Minnesota Trucking Association. <br />Available Business Sites in Mounds View <br />Commissioner Larson asked if there is any news on the PAK building. Ms. Steinmetz <br />replied that the two owners of the building are still trying to decide if the building should be <br />leased or sold. <br />Commissioner Johnson asked why the vacant BP gas station building is not on the list of <br />available sites. Ms. Steinmetz replied that the building is not officially for sale or lease at <br />this time. Commissioner Helgemoe asked who owns the property. Mr. Roberts replied that <br />the property is privately owned. <br />Commissioner Wagner-Harkonen mentioned that RJ Riches' recent paint job looks very <br />nice. <br />
