EDC Minutes <br />August 20, 2010 <br />Page 3 of 3 <br />Motion/Second: Commissioner Belting moved and Commissioner Larson seconded a <br />motion of support towards the development of a housing assistance program containing a <br />mix of loan concepts, including a demolition loan option. In addition, the EDC supports an <br />amount of $150,000 of funding towards this program until further review of the program. <br />Motion Carried: 4 Ayes 0 Nays <br />7. REPORTS OF COMMISSIONERS <br />Commissioner Johnson reminded everyone that Festival in the Park is tomorrow. She <br />added that school is about to start and hopes that we keep safety in mind. Ms. Steinmetz <br />added that the Police Department provided a full page of back to school safety tips in the <br />Fall Mounds View Matters. Commissioner Johnson added that she has been using the <br />trails along County Road 10 lately and that they are terrific. <br />8. REPORTS OF STAFF <br />Mr. Roberts provided a verbal updates for Item 8A (update on Select Senior Living and <br />Coventry Senior Living projects. <br />Commissioner Johnson asked why there is a crane on the residential property along County <br />Road 10 near Woodale. Ms. Steinmetz said that the landowner recently demolished the <br />vacant home on the property <br />Ms. Steinmetz provided verbal updates for Items 8B, 8C & 8D (Mounds View business <br />news, available business sites in Mounds View and upcoming events). <br />Commissioner Johnson asked how many foreclosures are in Mounds View. Ms. Steinmetz <br />said there are currently about 110 foreclosures. <br />Commissioner Johnson mentioned that there would be a 5K fun run and pancake breakfast <br />on Saturday, Sept. 18th. The event is a fundraiser for the local youth hockey association. <br />9. UPCOMING EDC MEETING <br />The next regular EDC meeting is scheduled for Friday, September 17, 2010 at 7:30am. <br />10.
