CALL TO ORDER: <br /> <br /> Chairperson Greg Belting called the meeting to order at 7:30 a.m. <br /> <br />2. ROLL CALL: <br /> <br /> Members Present: Dr. Greg Belting, Jackie Entsminger, Tom Field, and Stan McDonald <br /> <br />Members Absent: David Fox, Jason Helgemoe, Torri Johnson <br /> <br />Staff Present: Economic Development Coordinator Aaron Backman <br />Others Present: Community Development Director Jim Ericson <br /> <br />3. APPROVAL OF EDC MINUTES: <br /> <br />Motion/Second: Field moved and McDonald seconded the approval of the June 20, 2003 EDC <br />minutes. <br /> <br />Motion Carried: 4 Ayes 0 Nays <br /> <br />4. SPECIAL BUSINESS <br /> <br />No Special Business Scheduled. <br /> <br />5. REPORT OF COMMISSIONERS, STAFF AND EDA LIAISON <br /> <br />A. Commissioner Reports: McDonald mentioned that Dick Fast who works for Minnesota <br />Technology would be a good presenter at an EDC meeting. McDonald will discuss if Mr. Fast <br />could make a presentation in the Fall. <br /> <br />B. Report of EDA Liaison: Backman reported that the City has hired a new City Administrator—Kurt <br />Ulrich. He began on July 21st and served the City Administrator for the City of Champlin. <br /> <br />C. TCN Chamber of Commerce Update: The Chamber held is annual retreat on June 26th at <br />Medtronic’s world headquarters building in Fridley. We discussed trends affecting chambers and <br />accomplishments in 2002/3. Some of the successes include a successful merger (Southern <br />Anoka, and New Brighton-Mounds View); increasing members from 313 to 428; hiring a <br />membership/marketing director, paying off the line of credit and holding a successful Gala. The
