RESOLUTION 8866 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />APPROVING UPGRADING THE SCADA (SUPERVISORY, CONTROL, AND DATA <br />ACQUISITION) COMPUTER PROGRAM <br />WHEREAS, the City of Mounds View has operated a water and sewer distribution <br />system since the early 1960's. The distribution system, that operates 24 hours a day/365 days a <br />year, is critical to health and safety services vital to our everyday lives, and; <br />WHEREAS, The SCADA (Supervisory, Control, and Data Acquisition) is a computer <br />system for operating the City's utility systems. It was originally installed in 1989, and upgraded <br />in 1998, 2007, and 2016, and; <br />WHEREAS, While installing the software upgrades in 2017 it was recommended that a <br />backup dialer for the alarms should be installed, and; <br />WHEREAS, Staff received a quote for updating the SCADA software program, <br />relocating the system to the new Public Works Facility and installing a backup alarm dialer from <br />AE2S (Advanced Engineering and Environmental Services Inc.) for $38,975, with a 5% <br />contingency of $1,948 and is budgeted in 700-4823-3030, and; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View, <br />Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: <br />1. Approves the proposal from AE2S (Advanced Engineering and Environmental Services <br />Inc.) for $38,975, with a 5% contingency of $1,948 totaling $40,923 and is budgeted in <br />the Water Fund of 700-4823-3030. <br />2. The Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to execute all <br />appropriate documents to effectuate the actions contemplated by this resolution. <br />3. The Mayor and City Administrator, Staff and consultants are hereby authorized and <br />directed to take any and all additional steps and actions necessary or convenient in <br />order to accomplish the intent of this Resolution. <br />Adopted this 11th day of, December 2017. <br />Carol A.
