UTILITY POLE: Pole used to support essential services such as power, telephone, <br />or cable TV lines; or used to support street or pedestrian way lighting, typically located in <br />public rights-of-way or boulevards. WIRELESS TELECOMMUNICATION SERVICES: Licensed or unlicensed <br />wireless telecommunication services including cellular, digital cellular, personal <br />communication services (PCS), specialized mobile radio (SMR), enhanced specialized <br />mobile radio (ESMR), commercial or private paging services, or similar services marketed or <br />provided to the general public. (Ord. 588, 2-10-97) <br />1124.03: ALLOWANCE FOR TOWERS AND ANTENNAE BY ZONING <br />DISTRICT: <br />Subd. 1. Permitted Uses, All Districts: Wireless telecommunication towers and antennae shall be <br />allowed in any district as a permitted use only as provided below: <br />d. Small Wireless Facility: Small Wireless Facilities located on non -decorative utility <br />poles within the public right-of-way, shall be permitted in all zoning districts and must be <br />in compliance with Title 900 (Public Ways and Property). If located within public right- <br />of-way on a block where decorative utility poles are present, the Small Wireless Facili <br />must be located on a utility pole of similar appearance and dimensions to that of the <br />existing decorative utility poles. <br />SECTION 3. In accordance with Section 3.07 of the City Charter, City staff shall have the <br />following summary printed in the official City newspaper in lieu of the complete ordinance: <br />On January 22, 2018, the City Council adopted Ordinance 940 by amending Title 900 of the <br />Mounds View City Code regulating rights-of-way, including the placement of facilities <br />therein, within the City. <br />A printed copy of the ordinance is available for inspection during regular business hours at <br />Mounds View City Hall and is available on line at the City's web site located at <br />www.ci.mounds-view.mn.us. <br />SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force 30 days from and after its passage and <br />publication, in accordance with Section 3.09 of the City Charter. <br />Ordinance 940 <br />Page 24 <br />
