RESOLUTION NO. 8817 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />RESOLUTION PROMOTING JONATHAN SEVALD TO THE POSITION OF <br />CITY PLANNER / SUPERVISOR AND APPROVING CORRESPONDING <br />REVISIONS TO THE PLANNER JOB DESCRIPTION <br />WHEREAS, Jonathan Sevald is the City's Planner in the Community Development <br />Department, and, <br />WHEREAS, the City Council discussed the Planner position at its meeting on <br />August 14, 2017, concurring with the City Administrator that the position should be <br />reclassified to include supervisory responsibilities; and, <br />WHEREAS, Mr. Sevald is amenable to the position reclassification to City Planner/ <br />Supervisor and the additional supervisory duties as noted in the revised job description; <br />and, <br />WHEREAS, a revised wage scale for the position is proposed as follows: <br />Step 1 <br />Step 1.5 <br />Ste 2 <br />Ste 3 <br />Step 4 <br />Ste 5 <br />$32.47 <br />$33.49 <br />$34 50 <br />$36 53 <br />I $38.56 <br />I 440.59 <br />WHEREAS, Mr. Sevald would be assigned to Step 2 of the revised wage scale with <br />annual increases (from today's date) in accordance with the adopted Personnel Manual; <br />and, <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 1.37 of the Personnel Manual, Mr. Sevald shall be <br />subject to a six-month probationary period. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the City Council of the City of <br />Mounds View approves the following: <br />1. Reclassification of the Planner position to City Planner / Supervisor, <br />corresponding revisions to the position description and revised waged scale. <br />2. Jonathan Sevald shall assume the duties of the reclassified position effective <br />August 26, 2017, and be assigned to Step 2 of the revised wage scale. <br />3. Mr. Sevald shall be subject to a six month promotional probationary period. <br />Adopted this 28th day of August, 2017. <br />Carol A.
