RESOLUTION NO. 8141 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />Resolution Authorizing Certification of the Preliminary General Fund Budget and <br />Property Tax Levy for Fiscal Year 2014 <br />WHEREAS, current state statute requires cities to certify a preliminary budget and <br />tax levy to the county auditor; and, <br />WHEREAS, guidelines established by the Commissioner of Revenue require <br />certification to occur on or before September 15, 2013; and <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Revenue has certified the amount of Local <br />Government Aid payable to the City in 2014; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has elected to have a preliminary levy increase of 3%. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds <br />View that the preliminary expenditure budget for the General Fund for fiscal year 2014 is <br />$6,018,125. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the proposed 2014 base property tax levy is <br />$3,741,532 (General Fund $3,441,532 and Street Improvement Fund $300,000) and the <br />proposed 2014 special levies are $565,291 for a total net property tax levy of $4,306,823. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Finance Director shall certify these amounts <br />to the Ramsey County Auditor. <br />Adopted this 26th Day of August 2013. <br />Joe Flaherty, Mayor <br />(ATTEST) <br />Jim Ericson, Administrator <br />(SEAL) <br />
