RESOLUTION NO. 8068 CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA APPROVING THE HIRING OF JAMES DEMKO, BRIAN SMITH AND BRIAN SCHULTES TO THE POSITION OF POLICE OFFICER WHEREAS, the City Council has approved the establishment of an eligibility list for the position of Police Officer for current vacancies in the Police Department, and the Police Civil Service Commission has approved the procedures for establishing an eligibility register to fill these vacancies, and; WHEREAS, the approved hiring procedures consist of a competitive written examination, training and experience scoring, oral interviews, physical agility testing, a thorough background investigation, physical examination and a psychological examination and; WHEREAS, the Civil Service Commission has certified the eligibility list for the opening, and James Demko, Brian Smith and Brian Schultes are the top three candidates standing on the eligibility register, and their background investigations, physical, psychological, and physical agility testing have all been successfully completed, and; WHEREAS, staff of the Police Department has met with James Demko, Brian Smith and Brian Schultes, and the Chief of Police recommends that all three be appointed to the position of Police Officer. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota does hereby appoint James Demko, as the first hired officer and Brian Smith as the second hired officer to the position of Police Officer effective March 18, 2013 at the step one rate of pay ($21.32/hr) as indicated in the Law Enforcement Labor Services contract and Brian Schultes to the position of Police Officer also at the step 1($21.32/hr) pay rate effective April 15, 2013.
