RESOLUTION NO. 8150 CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA APPROVING THE HIRING OF GREGORY RANDOLPH AND JAMES STOFFEL TO THE POSITION OF POLICE OFFICER WHEREAS, the City Council has approved the establishment of an eligibility list for the position of Police Officer for current vacancies in the Police Department, and the Police Civil Service Commission has approved the procedures for establishing an eligibility register to fill these vacancies; and, WHEREAS, the approved hiring procedures consist of a competitive written examination, training and experience scoring, oral interviews, physical agility testing, a thorough background investigation, physical examination and a psychological examination; and, WHEREAS, the Civil Service Commission has certified the eligibility list for the opening, and Gregory Randolph and James Stoffel are the top two candidates standing on the eligibility register, and their background investigations, physical, psychological, and physical agility testing have all been successfully completed; and, WHEREAS, staff of the Police Department has met with Gregory Randolph and James Stoffel, and the Chief of Police recommends that both candidates be appointed to the position of Police Officer. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota does hereby appoint Gregory Randolph, as the first hired officer and James Stoffel as the second hired officer to the position of Police Officer effective September 23, 2013 at the step one rate of pay ($21.32/hr) as indicated in the Law Enforcement Labor Services contract.
