She commented she attended her first Finance Committee meeting <br />this afternoon for the Board. She found this to be a very interesting opportunity and thanked the <br />Council for their support. <br />Council Member Mueller stated she would not be able to attend the August 5th work session <br />meeting. <br />Council Member Mueller invited the entire community to attend Festival in the Park on August <br />17th. She then discussed the lineup of events planned for the festival including the parade, car <br />show and beer garden. <br />Council Member Gunn stated on July 31s' she would be attending the first I-35 Coalition <br />meeting. <br />Mayor Flaherty reported Area F of the street improvement project was moving along well. <br />Mayor Flaherty stated he and Administrator Ericson attended the Music in the Park event last <br />Thursday and enjoyed the Teddy Bear Band along with many members of the community. He <br />commented the next Music in the Park concert would take place on August 15th. <br />Council Member Mueller encouraged the public to take advantage of the local theater <br />performances of Les Miserables taking place at the Irondale High School. <br />The Council discussed the new businesses in town and encouraged the community to visit. <br />B. Reports of Staff. <br />City Administrator Ericson explained the entire Council was invited to tour the TCAAP property <br />on July 27th or August 10th. He stated he held interviews this week for the code enforcement <br />officer. He would have a recommendation for the Council in the coming weeks. <br />City Administrator Ericson noted there was a tentative closing for the Robert's property on July <br />23`d. <br />City Administrator Ericson questioned if the Council was in favor of completing the semaphore <br />painting along the Highway 10 corridor this year. Mayor Flaherty stated the Council did want to <br />address this concern in 2013. <br />1. Consider City Hall Sign Design Options <br />City Administrator Ericson reviewed three City Hall sign design options from DeMar Signs with <br />the Council. He requested the Council discuss the options and direct staff on how to proceed. <br />The Council was in favor of proceeding with Sign Option 1. <br />
