Ensure all personnel are provided applicable, realistic and dynamic training <br />using diverse and innovate methods. <br />STRATEGY #1: <br />Collaborate to develop and deliver training programs based on identified need. <br />Action Steps: <br />1. Form working group representative of department to assist in training program development. <br />• Time: Immediate <br />2. Assess and ensure training programs and physical training assets meet to the greatest extent <br />possible: industry best practices, NFPA standards, ISO requirements, OSHA laws and State <br />regulations. <br />• Time: Immediate <br />3. Train and certify 25% of operations personnel in wildland firefighting positions equivalent to <br />individual structural positions using National Wildfire Coordinating Group and Minnesota <br />Department of Natural Resources position requirements. <br />• Time: 6 months <br />4. Collaborate with mutual aid partners and train in unified operations and incident command. <br />• Time: 12 months <br />5. Conduct annual strategic review to analyze past performance and make changes as needed to <br />meet anticipated service changes and incorporate emerging methodology/technology. <br />• Time: 12 months <br />STRATEGY #2: <br />Incorporate new technology and methodology to increase efficiency of training <br />programs. <br />Action Steps: <br />1. Redesign training program incorporating more single station/single company training. <br />• Time: hnmediate <br />2. Incorporate online training platforms whenever possible, to reduce seat time for personnel, <br />while increasing documented number of training hours. <br />• Time: Immediate <br />3. Implement an online training platform to deliver and track training. <br />• Time: 6 months <br />STRATEGY #3: <br />Plan for future addition of training props to include live burn structure(s). <br />Action Steps: <br />1.
