Develop internal leadership expectations; model expected leadership behavior and mentor <br />leaders at all levels. <br />• Time: 12 months <br />2. Identify, mentor and provide professional development opportunities for personnel who <br />exhibit positive leadership traits, a passion to lead and ability to learn. <br />• Time: 12 months <br />3. Increase funding each year for the tuition reimbursement program; encourage department <br />personnel to pursue advanced educational degrees. <br />• Time: 60 months <br />STRATEGY #2: <br />Ensure hiring and promotional requirements are inclusive, achievable, and <br />maintainable, while meeting high standards of performance. <br />Action Steps: <br />1. Review promotional process/requirements, obtain input from personnel and modify process <br />to ensure officer positions are filled on a continuous basis. <br />• Time: 4 months <br />2. Review hiring requirements, identify deficiencies and implement changes to ensure process <br />is compliant with Federal/State Statutes, National Standards and best practices. <br />• Time: 18 months <br />STRATEGY #3: <br />Determine how to best utilize career and volunteer personnel to their greatest <br />potential. <br />Action Steps: <br />1. Leaders of each workgroup/division perform an analysis of respective areas of responsibility <br />and develop a three-year strategic plan for each. <br />• Time: 24 months <br />2.
