I am honored to present the 2017-2022 Strategic Plan for the Spring Lake Park -Blaine -
Mounds View Fire Department (SBMFD). This document provides guidance for how we
conduct business today, our vision for the future. While comprehensive and containing
implementation timeframes, the intent is for the plan to remain
flexible in nature. Flexibility allows for plan modifications
based on new information, allowing for needed modification to
the way we conduct business. This methodology will
continually ensure we are serving our internal and external
stakeholders to the best of our ability.
The comprehensive and collaborative plan was
developed after receiving input from the entire membership.
This occurred during multiple strategic planning sessions during
the summer and fall of 2016. From the beginning, it was vitally
important that the plan be developed with a significant amount
of input from internal stakeholders. With that input, the
foundation of the plan was formed.
We are a high performing organization, taking
pride in the service we provide to our three communities. We
possess an innovative history, unique service model and provide
exceptional service at the lowest per capita rate in Minnesota.
These factors ensure an operational approach that continually
maintains a proper balance between efficiency and effectiveness.
Our personnel are intensely dedicated to service, form the
foundation of our organization and are the most valuable of
assets.
The SBMFD is fortunate to provide service for one of
the fastest growing districts in the State of Minnesota. The plan
outlined in this document will prepare us to provide service for a
growing population, which is on track to be one of the largest in
Minnesota.
Thank you to all those who participated in the creation of
this comprehensive plan. Please take the time to study our plan
and share in our direction for the future.
Charles V.
