AGREEMENT FOR MAINTENANCE <br />OF TRAFFIC CONTROL SIGNALS <br />AGREEMENT NO. PW2013-08 <br />THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into by and between the County of Ramsey, <br />("County,") and the City of Mounds View ("City") for the installation and maintenance of a <br />traffic control signal system with street lights, signs, interconnect, and emergency vehicle pre- <br />emption at the intersection of C.S.A.H. 10 (CSAH 10) and Silver Lake Road (CSAR 44)/Red <br />Oak Drive; <br />WHEREAS, the County has determined that there is justification and it is in the public's <br />best interest to install a new traffic control signal with street lights, signs, interconnect, and <br />emergency vehicle pre-emption at C.S.A.H. 10 (CSAR 10) and Silver Lake Road (CSAR <br />44)/Red Oak Drive; and <br />WHEREAS, the City requested and the County agrees to an Emergency Vehicle Pre-emption <br />System, hereinafter referred to as the "EVP System" as a part of said traffic control signal with street <br />lights in accordance with the terms and conditions hereinafter set forth; and <br />WHEREAS, the County and the City will participate in the maintenance and operation of said <br />traffic control signal with street lights, signs, interconnect, and EVP system as hereinafter set forth. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS AGREED AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. The County shall install or cause the installation of said traffic control signal with street lights, <br />signs, interconnect, and EVP system in accordance with the plan and specification for S.P. 062-610- <br />003, S.P. 062-644-033, S.P. 146-228-007, County Project P3234. <br />2, The City shall install or cause the installation of an adequate electric power supply to the <br />service pad including any necessary extensions of power lines. Upon completion of the traffic control <br />signal with street lights, signs, interconnect, and EVP system installation, necessary electrical power for <br />their operation shall be at the cost and expense of the City. In accordance with the Policy for lighting <br />County Roadways, County Board Resolution 78-1394, the City shall maintain and pay energy costs of <br />the integral street lights. <br />3. Upon completion of the work the County shall maintain and keep in repair the traffic control <br />signal including relamping and cleaning at the County's expense. <br />4. Upon completion of the work the County shall maintain and keep in repair the interconnect and <br />overhead mast arm mounted signs at the County's expense. <br />5. The County shall maintain and keep in repair the geometries on County -owned roadways at <br />the County's expense. The City shall maintain and keep in repair the geometries on City -owned <br />roads at the City's expense. <br />PW 2013-08 Page 1 of 4 <br />
