RESOLUTION 8152 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF WATER CONTROL VALVES FOR <br />WATER TREATMENT PLANT NO. 1 <br />WHEREAS, one of the many responsibilities the Public Works Department is to <br />provide safe, clean drinking water to the city consumers in a reliable and efficient manner; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, two 10 -inch control valves in Water Treatment Plant No. 1 require <br />replacement to provide reliable and efficient processing of treated ground water; and <br />WHEREAS, Public Works has obtained a quote from Larsco Water Treatment <br />Equipment Company of Anoka, Minnesota for two replacement control valves for $8,534 <br />($4,267 each) plus sales taxes and freight; and <br />WHEREAS, monies have been budgeted for in the 2013 Budget under the Water <br />Enterprise Fund (700-4823-7030) for funding of the valve replacement. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds <br />View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: <br />1. The purchase of two (2) water control valves (OCR model 720 reduced port flow <br />control) are hereby authorized for $8,534 ($4,267 each), including additional <br />costs for sales tax and freight, from Larsco Water Treatment Equipment <br />Company. <br />2. Monies for said purchase will be funded from the Water Enterprise Fund Acct. <br />700-4823-7030 and a 5% contingency of $450 is hereby approved for other <br />miscellaneous supplies needed for the valve replacement. <br />Adopted this 23rd day of September, 2013 <br />Joe Flaherty, Mayor <br />ATTEST: <br />James Ericson, City Administrator <br />(seal) <br />
