Mounds View City Council August 28, 2017 <br />Regular Meeting Page 10 <br />1 Mayor Mueller reported the City was seeking volunteers to assist in planning the City's 60t" <br />2 Anniversary celebration which would occur in 2018. It was noted the first planning meeting <br />3 would be held on Tuesday, October 3`d. Further information regarding this group could be <br />4 gained by contacting City Hall. <br />5 <br />6 Mayor Mueller commented on the Festival in the Park car show and reviewed the list of winners, <br />7 noting the best in show car was awarded to a 1962 Nash Metro. She thanked all who donated to <br />8 the Ralph Reeder Food Shelf and to the generous Mounds View resident that matched the <br />9 monetary donation amount. <br />10 <br />11 Mayor Mueller reviewed an article from the September edition of Municipal magazine <br />12 commenting on an article where infiltration basins were discussed in the City of Coon Rapids <br />13 and encouraged all Council Members to read this article. <br />14 <br />15 B. Reports of Staff. <br />16 <br />17 Interim Public Works Director Peterson provided the Council with an update on the progress <br />18 being made on the Public Works Facility. He explained the parking lots at City Hall and the <br />19 Community Center would be completed by the third week of September. He stated he would <br />20 continue to work on the Long Lake Road rehabilitation project with the County. <br />21 <br />22 Finance Director Beer invited the Council to visit City Hall on Wednesday, September 6t <br />23 between 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. to say goodbye to City Administrator Jim Ericson and wish him <br />24 well in his retirement. <br />25 <br />26 1. Review Existing and Proposed Organizational Chart. <br />27 <br />28 City Administrator Ericson reviewed the City's existing organizational chart with the Council. <br />29 He then commented on a proposed organizational chart noting changes to several positions. He <br />3o explained the Assistant City Administrator, Parks Supervisor and Accounts Payable Clerk <br />31 positions have been removed. He discussed how several positions had shifted within <br />32 departments and stated Human Resources position was added. <br />33 <br />34 Council Member Gunn supported the proposed changes to the organizational chart. <br />35 <br />36 Mayor Mueller asked if patrol officers were at their full compliment. City Administrator Ericson <br />37 explained 12 patrol officers was the number the City was currently budgeted for. <br />38 <br />39 MOTION/SECOND: Gunn/Meehlhause. To Approve the Proposed Organizational Chart. <br />40 <br />41 Ayes — 5 Nays — 0 Motion carried. <br />42 <br />43 City Administrator Ericson stated last week the Council heard from three developers regarding <br />44 potential plans for Crossroad Pointe. He requested the Council direct staff on how to proceed <br />45 with this redevelopment. <br />
