Steve has <br />been employed by the City for 5 years (August 6, 2012). Attached is Resolution 8833, <br />which authorizes severance to Mr. Thorp in accordance with the City's Personnel Manual. <br />Discussion <br />Section 3.47 of the Personnel Manual indicates that employees who resign shall be <br />compensated for any accrued and unused vacation hours and, with two or more years of <br />service, employees are eligible to receive a payout of sick leave sick subject to the terms <br />and provisions addressed in Section 3.45 regarding the Retirement Health Savings Plan. <br />The following represents severance eligible to Mr. Thorp: <br />Hours <br />Hourly rate <br />Payout <br />Vacation Hours 0.00 <br />$40.59 <br />$ 0.00 Cash Pa out <br />50% of Sick Leave 1 73.01 <br />$40.59 <br />$ 2,963.48 into RHSP <br />Total Severance: <br />$ 2,963.48 <br />Recommendation <br />Staff recommends approval of Resolution 8833 authorizing severance to Steve Thorp <br />pursuant to the Mounds View Personnel Manual. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />Mark Beer <br />Finance Director <br />
