COUNCIL BUSINESS <br />A. 7:00 p.m. Public Hearing, to Consider Resolution 8160, Adopting a Special <br />Assessment Levy for Delinquent Public Utility Accounts. <br />Finance Director Beer requested the Council adopt a special assessment levy for delinquent <br />public utility accounts. He explained a $35 administrative fee would be attached to the special <br />assessments along with a 5.5% interest rate. <br />Mayor Flaherty opened the public hearing at 7:14 p.m. <br />Hearing no public input, Mayor Flaherty closed the public hearing at 7:15 p.m. <br />Council Member Mueller requested further information on the type of utility bills that had <br />delinquencies. Finance Director Beer explained this included water, storm water, sewer and <br />street light utility bills. <br />MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Meehlhause. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 8160, <br />Adopting a Special Assessment Levy for Delinquent Public Utility Accounts. <br />Ayes — 5 Nays — 0 Motion carried. <br />B. 7:00 p.m. Public Hearing, to Consider Resolution 8161, Adopting a Special <br />Assessment Levy for Unpaid False Alarm and Nuisance Abatement Charges. <br />Finance Director Beer requested the Council adopt a special assessment levy for unpaid false <br />alarm and nuisance abatement charges. He explained a $35 administrative fee would be attached <br />to the special assessments along with a 5.5% interest rate. <br />Mayor Flaherty opened the public hearing at 7:20 p.m. <br />Hearing no public input, Mayor Flaherty closed the public hearing at 7:20 p.m. <br />Council Member Mueller requested further information on the JefferT Drive property. Finance <br />Director Beer discussed the cleanup of this property noting the expenses for the cleanup would <br />be charged back to the property along with a $35 administrative fee. <br />MOTION/SECOND: Gunn/Mueller.
