T �T�c jT��T Item No: 07D OUI�IDS V 1L' VY Meeting Date: December 9, 2013 Type of Business: CB Administrator Review: t� City of Mounds View Staff Report To: Honorable Mayor and City Council From: Desaree Crane, Assistant City Administrator Item Title/Subject: Resolution 8184, Setting the 2013 City Council Meeting Dates, 2014 Council/Staff Retreat, and the 2013 Town Hall Meeting Discussion: Based on the Council's schedule of conducting meetings, Work Sessions are normally scheduled for the first Monday of each month and Council meetings on the second and fourth Mondays of each month. Attached is a proposed list of Work Session and City Council Meeting dates for 2014 (Exhibit A). The following legal holidays fall on dates that would otherwise be considered Council Meetings: Memorial Day (May 26, 2014) and Labor Day (September 1, 2014). For these dates, the schedule reflects a Tuesday. In addition to setting the official calendar, the Council/Staff Retreat and the Town Hall Meeting will need to be scheduled for 2014. At an earlier meeting, Staff and the City Council decided to schedule the Council/Staff Retreat for February 11, 2014, from 6pm to 10pm. In regard to the Town Hall Meeting, Staff recommends scheduling the meeting for Monday, March 31, 2014, at 6pm. Scheduling the Town Meeting on March 31 st will allow enough time for Staff to prepare a presentation from the decisions made during the Council/Staff retreat. If this date does not work for the City Council, then there is an alternate date available of Monday, April 21, 2014. Town Hall Meeting will be located at Mounds View City Hall. Recommendation: Please advise Staff on which dates would work best for the Town Hall Meeting. Staff will add the Town Hall Meeting date to Exhibit A of Resolution 8184 after this meeting.
