vehicle and equipment maintenance reports, and other related or required data. <br />• Responds to citizen requests and complaint s in a manner consistent with City <br />policies and regulations and promotes and maintains a favorable image of the <br />City through positive community relations. <br />• Follows departmental safety regulations and operating procedures that are in <br />compliance with applicable Minnesota Occupational Safety and Health Laws and <br />regulations. Also recognizes potential hazards in the work environment and notifies <br />Pubic Works Supervisor for corrective action. <br />PERIPHERAL DUTIES <br />• Works with other City employees in a cooperative manner to maintain a team effort <br />and also can work effectively alone. <br />• Performs related duties as apparent or delegated <br />• Assists in training other employees <br />• Answers emergency calls as part of "on call employee pool" <br />MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS <br />Education and Experience: <br />(A) Graduation from a high school or GED equivalent. <br />(B) Class B CDL with Airbrake and Tanker Endorsements <br />(C) Herbicide/Pesticide Applicators License <br />(D) Must be competent in Microsoft Office Applications and have general computer <br />skills. <br />** see contract for job classification system and minimum advancement qualifications. <br />SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS <br />(A) Valid State Driver's license. Possess or obtain CDL certification, Class D Water <br />Supply System Operator's Certificate, and S -D Wastewater Operators Certificate. <br />(B) Assault repair and masonry knowledge <br />(C) Must obtain low voltage license within 1 year of employment <br />(D) Must have knowledge of Irrigation Installation and Repair. <br />TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED <br />Pickup truck and 15 passenger van; lawn and landscaping equipment, including tractors, <br />mowers, airifiers, chain saws, edgers, weed trimmers, electric motors, pumps, sprinklers, <br />irrigation systems; miscellaneous hand and power tools for turf maintenance, carpentry, <br />painting, plumbing, electrical and cement finishing tools; filtration devices, gauges, etc, <br />janitorial equipment including floor buffers, steam cleaners, carpet cleaners, washers, <br />vacuums, mops, brooms and dusting equipment. <br />PHYSICAL DEMANDS <br />The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an <br />employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
