Mounds View City Council December 4, 2017 <br />Special City Council Meeting Page 3 <br />1 estimate her property taxes off of the taxable value for her home. He stated he could investigate <br />2 the history of this property and would be in contact with Ms. Elfstrand. <br />3 <br />4 COUNCIL REPORTS <br />5 <br />6 Council Member Meehlhause reported the Mounds View Police Department will begin the New <br />7 American Academy on Tuesday, December 5th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Mounds <br />8 View Public Schools and Adult Learning Center in Silver View Plaza. He noted another session <br />9 would be held on Thursday, December 7th. The last two sessions would be held on Tuesday, <br />10 December 12th and Thursday, December 14th. He stated he would be attending all four of these <br />11 sessions. <br />12 <br />13 Council Member Meehlhause explained he would be attending a Northeast Youth and Family <br />14 Services Board meeting on Thursday, December 7th. He stated he would also be attending the <br />15 Pinewood Dinner and Discussion on Thursday. <br />16 <br />17 Council Member Meehlhause indicated the Mounds View Business Council would be meeting <br />18 next on Wednesday, December 13th at 7:30 a.m. at the Mermaid Event Center. <br />19 <br />20 Council Member Meehlhause thanked all of the Mounds View residents who supported the <br />21 Mounds View Lions at their waffle breakfast yesterday morning. <br />22 <br />23 Council Member Bergeron thanked Interim City Administrator Zikmund for his help on the plan <br />24 for youth in government. He noted this program would be called TCL for Tomorrow's Civic <br />25 Leaders. <br />26 <br />27 Council Member Gunn stated she would be attending a CTV Cable Commission meeting on <br />28 Thursday. <br />29 <br />30 Council Member Gunn wished longtime resident Don Hodges and his wife Amy a happy <br />31 birthday. She explained Don was the City of Mounds View's local historian. <br />32 <br />33 Mayor Mueller reported she attended the Ramsey County League of Local Government Annual <br />34 Meeting last week. She provided an overview of the topics discussed at this meeting. <br />35 <br />36 Mayor Mueller commented on the November/December Minnesota Cities magazine. She stated <br />37 the magazine had an article that addressed the high turnover rate for City employees. <br />38 <br />39 Mayor Mueller indicated the 60th Anniversary Committee was still seeking volunteers to help <br />40 plan and organize an event for 2018. She thanked those who had submitted stories and photos. <br />41 She reported the 60th Anniversary Committee was planning a dance for Friday, August 17th, <br />42 which was the day before the Festival in the Park. <br />43 <br />44 Mayor Mueller stated on Wednesday, December 13th she would be attending the Mounds View <br />45 Business Council. <br />
