MaU_N0tSVCEW: City of Mounds View Staff Report Item NoW 15 Meeting Date: January 22, 2018 Type of Business: Public Hearing Administrator Review: "_7 To: Honorable Mayor and City Council From: Nyle Zikmund City City Administrator Subject: Public Hearing to Consider Resolution 8895 Approving an On -Sale Intoxicating Liquor License for New Vision Theatres for the Mounds View 15 Theater, 2430 Mounds View Boulevard Introduction: In accordance with Chapter 502 of the Mounds View City Code, a public hearing is required for all liquor license applications and renewals. Charles Alan Goldwater of New Vision Theatres is requesting City Council approval for a new On -Sale Intoxicating Liquor License for the Mounds View 15 Theater at 2430 Mounds View Boulevard. Discussion: The applicant has completed all application materials and has paid the appropriate fees for this license. A public hearing notice was mailed to all property owners within 350 feet of the theater property and a notice was published in the official city newspaper as required. Criminal Background Check Staff submitted a criminal background check on Charles Alan Goldwater to the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and the report came back satisfactory. Utility Bill Inquiry The Finance Department has indicated that the theater property is current on all water/sewer bills. Income Tax Inquiry An on-line report from Ramsey County has indicated that all property taxes for the theater are current at this time. Building and Fire Inspections The property is not yet ready for any inspections since they are in the beginning stages of their extensive remodeling. Once the remodeling is complete, the liquor license issuance will be contingent upon a satisfactory inspection by the Mounds View Building Official and Mounds View Fire Marshal. The applicant has satisfied all other requirements for the issuance of an on -sale intoxicating liquor license.
