Rule#1 Council Members treat each other, the staff and the public with <br />respect and dignity. <br />Rule #2 Council Members maintain the highest standards of honesty and <br />integrity in their public and private dealings. <br />Rule #3 Council Members recognize the interdependency of the Council <br />and the Professional Staff. <br />Rule #4 Council Members are courteous in their dealings, and do not <br />interrupt other Council Members, the Staff or Citizens when they <br />are speaking at Council meetings. <br />Rule #5 Council Members respect the individuality and contribution that <br />other Council Members and Staff Members bring to the City. <br />Rule #6 Council Members respect the majority vote of the Council, and do <br />not undermine or sabotage implementation of ordinances, policies, <br />and rules passed by the majority. <br />Rule #7 Council Members respect and do not belittle, the minority opinions <br />and votes of Council Members who are not part of the majority vote <br />on key issues. <br />Rule #8 Council Members focus on the "Big Picture of the City," thinking <br />and acting strategically. <br />Rule #9 Council Members set an example for others to follow. <br />
