Mounds View City Council January 22, 2018 <br />Regular Meeting Page 9 <br />1 Mayor Mueller commented on several articles from a recent publication from the League of <br />2 Minnesota Cities. She discussed the importance of cities protecting local control and how social <br />3 capital was vanishing. She encouraged Mounds View residents to get to know their neighbors. <br />4 <br />5 B. Reports of Staff. <br />6 <br />7 Public Works Director Peterson stated plowing would begin at 3:00 a.m. from the recent storm <br />8 event. He estimated the City has received 7 to 8 inches of snow. <br />9 <br />10 Mayor Mueller encouraged residents to be patient while staff works to clear the City of snow and <br />11 to help their neighbors clean up after this event. <br />12 <br />13 Public Works Director Peterson discussed the projects he was currently working on. He reported <br />14 appliances were installed at the Public Works Facility and stated his staff was very excited to <br />15 move into this new space. <br />16 <br />17 Mayor Mueller questioned when an Open House would be held for the new Public Works <br />18 Facility. Public Works Director Peterson anticipated this would not occur until the spring, given <br />19 the amount of work that still had to be done to the buildings exterior. <br />20 <br />21 Finance Director Beer reported the City was undergoing its yearly audit at this time. <br />22 <br />23 City Administrator Zikmund stated Brian Beeman welcomed a son to his family. The Council <br />24 sent their congratulations to Brian and his wife. <br />25 <br />26 City Administrator Zikmund reviewed the February 51h worksession agenda with the Council. <br />27 <br />28 C.
