That discussion included a reorganization <br />with the requirements for a Public Works Parks Maintenance position and adding Forestry <br />duties to this position. There was consensus to update the position description and move <br />forward with the organization plan. <br />Discussion <br />As part of the effort to reorganize the Public Works Department all job duties for all <br />positions as well as the job title are being reviewed. In reviewing the Public Works Park <br />Maintenance position the intent is to have this position be more involved in the forestry <br />duties of the City. The Position description was developed to reflect the needs more of <br />the department and the City. <br />Recommendation <br />Staff recommends approval of the job description for the Parks Maintenance / Forestry <br />position and submit it for pointing. Staff also recommends the position to be posted for <br />hire and this would be an internal posting first; if no candidates meet the qualifications the <br />position would be advertised for hire. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />Don Peterson <br />Public Works Director <br />
