RESOLUTION 8955 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF A GRINDER FOR THE <br />GROVELAND LIFT STATION <br />WHEREAS, the Public Works Department is responsible for overseeing the <br />operation of the sanitary sewer system; and <br />WHEREAS, the Public Works Department is also responsible for the operation of <br />the Bronson and Groveland Lift Stations; and <br />WHEREAS, on March 19, 2018, Public Works received an alarm for the Groveland <br />Lift Station for high water level; and <br />WHEREAS, a large amount of flushable wipes had clogged the grinder causing <br />the grinder to bind and therefore burning out the motor; and <br />WHEREAS, Staff received (2) two quotes for different options to replace the <br />grinder; and <br />WHEREAS, Staff recommends Option 1, replacing the grinder with an upgraded <br />model in the same location. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds <br />View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: <br />1) Approves the purchase of (1) JWC model 3004T -1200 -DI -WI In-line <br />grinder from Electric Pump of New Prague, MN, for $12,441.65, not <br />including freight. <br />2) The amount will be funded from the 2018 adopted budget, account 730- <br />4823-7050. <br />3) The Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to <br />execute all appropriate documents to effectuate the actions <br />contemplated by this resolution. <br />4) The Mayor and City Administrator, Staff and consultants are hereby <br />authorized and directed to take any and all additional steps and actions <br />necessary or convenient in order to accomplish the intent of this <br />Resolution. <br />Adopted this 14th day of May, 2018. <br />Carol A.
