It was her opinion a phone <br />2 survey would not be successful and was too costly. <br />3 <br />4 Council Member Bergeron stated renters in the City would not be made aware of the survey. He <br />5 suggested the City find a way to include this demographic in the survey. Finance Director Beer <br />6 reported the City had a separate mailing list for renters and this list could be used for the survey <br />7 mailing. <br />8 <br />9 Council Member Gunn questioned the timeline on the survey and asked what information staff <br />10 was hoping to gain for the City's Comprehensive Plan. City Planner/Supervisor Sevald <br />11 explained staff was hoping to gain feedback on the acceptable level of housing density and how <br />12 to apply grant funding for housing. <br />13 <br />14 Council Member Meehlhause asked if the survey was required for the Comprehensive Plan. City <br />15 Planner/Supervisor Sevald reported the survey was not a requirement. <br />16 <br />17 Mayor Mueller commented on the recent discussions held by the Comprehensive Plan Taskforce <br />18 and why a survey was being recommended. She explained in order to better understand how to <br />19 further develop the Mounds View Boulevard Corridor staff was seeking input from the entire <br />20 community and not just the 13 taskforce members. <br />21 <br />22 Council Member Bergeron questioned how frequently the rental list was updated by staff. <br />23 Finance Director Beer explained this list was updated each time a newsletter was mailed out. <br />24 <br />25 Mayor Mueller recommended the phone survey not be pursued, but rather consider mailing out a <br />26 survey in a utility billing and hold an Open House at the Town Hall meeting. <br />27 <br />28 Council Member Hull and Council Member Gunn supported the water bill mailing and Open <br />29 House as well. <br />30 <br />31 Council Member Bergeron stated he would like to see the utility bill mailing completed so long <br />32 as all renters were sent the survey as well. <br />33 <br />34 Council Member Meehlhause agreed and encouraged staff to phrase their questions carefully to <br />35 ensure the City is able to gather valuable information. <br />36 <br />37 Public Works Director Peterson reported the Community Center would be closed for the next <br />38 week and a half for cleaning and maintenance. He noted Public Works staff would be filling <br />39 potholes in the coming weeks. He explained he would be conducting interviews for the GIS <br />40 position on Tuesday, March 13tH <br />41 <br />42 Finance Director Beer stated the City's 2017 audit was now complete. He anticipated Council <br />43 would be receiving a report on the audit at the April 23`d City Council meeting. <br />44 <br />
