RESOLUTION NO. 8947 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING THE 2017 MOUNDS VIEW CITIZEN OF THE YEAR <br />WHEREAS, the Mounds View Citizen of the Year Award recognizes ordinary citizens who have <br />demonstrated initiative to improving the community, whose service or performance exemplifies the spirit of <br />giving back and who inspire others in their volunteer efforts; and <br />WHEREAS, nominations were solicited from the public and were reviewed by the City Council; and <br />WHEREAS, Betty Wall, a 67 -year resident of the City of Mounds View, was selected for the 2017 <br />award and she meets the criteria outlined in the policy; and <br />WHEREAS, Betty Wall has exemplified the courage and determination to follow her values; and <br />WHEREAS, Betty Wall has demonstrated drive and initiative in her approach to citizenship and has <br />worked steadfastly with various community groups and organizations; and <br />WHEREAS, Betty Wall has volunteered a significant amount of time and energy to further <br />community causes and issues; and <br />WHEREAS, her efforts have generated positive results for the community; and <br />WHEREAS, Betty Wall has contributed her efforts unselfishly, not expecting anything in return. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mounds View City Council does hereby <br />present the 2017 Mounds View Citizens of the Year to Betty Wall in sincere gratitude and appreciation for <br />her efforts as a long time Mounds View resident. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mounds View City Council acknowledges that Betty Wall <br />recently passed away and that this award is presented posthumously. <br />Adopted this 91" day of April, 2018. <br />Councilmember Sherry Gunn <br />Councilmember Bill Bergeron <br />ATTEST: <br />Mayor Carol A.
