RESOLUTION 8968 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />APPROVING WAGE INCREASE OF THE 2018 PUBLIC WORKS RETURNING <br />SEASONAL WORKERS FROM $11.75 TO $13.00 PER HOUR <br />WHEREAS, resolution 8908 approved the employment of the 2018 Seasonal Pubic <br />Works positions; and <br />WHEREAS, a seasonal employee requested the possibility of a wage increase from <br />$11.75 per hour to a higher wage; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Mounds View Finance Director indicated there is room in the <br />2018 budget for an increase from $11.75 to $13.00 per hour for returning seasonal <br />employees; and <br />WHEREAS, the Public Works Director concurred with an increase for the returning <br />seasonal employees effective as of the seasonal employees start date in 2018; and <br />WHEREAS, a survey was conducted by the Human Resource Coordinator which <br />found metro suburban cities with a similar population to Mounds View to have salary ranges <br />for seasonal staff starting at $11.00 per hour and reaching a maximum of $17.00 per hour; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, increasing the seasonal hourly wage at the City of Mounds View will likely <br />help retain the returning 2018 seasonal staff. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds <br />View, Ramsey County, Minnesota that a wage of $13.00 per hour be paid to the 2018 Public <br />Works Returning Seasonal Workers effective as of their 2018 start date. <br />Adopted this 14th day of May, 2018. <br />Carol A.
