<br />Item No: 07C <br />Meeting Date: January 3, 2017 <br />Type of Business: CB <br /> <br />City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Desaree Crane, Assistant City Administrator <br />Item Title/Subject: Resolution 8689, Approving Severance for Officer Jeffrey <br />Martin of the Mounds View Police Department <br /> <br />Background <br /> <br />Jeffrey Martin submitted his resignation as a police officer, and his last day of employment <br />was on December 15, 2016. Attached is Resolution 8689, which authorizes severance to <br />Jeffrey Martin in accordance with the LELS Local 204 Labor Agreement. <br /> <br /> <br />Discussion <br /> <br />Resolution 8689 provides a payout of Jeffrey Martin’s sick time into his Retirement Health <br />Savings (RHSP) account. In accordance with the labor agreement, Mr. Martin is authorized <br />a sick time payout in the amount of $3,399.31 into his RHSP. This is calculated at 217 x <br />50% x his hourly rate of $31.33. <br /> <br />Resolution 8689 provides a payout of Jeffrey Martin’s accrued/unused vacation time. In <br />accordance with labor agreement, Mr. Martin is authorized a vacation time payout totaling <br />$1,794.90. This is calculated as 57.29 accrued/unused vacation hours times his hourly rate <br />of $31.33 <br /> <br />Resolution 8689 also provides a payout of Jeffrey Martin’s compensatory time. In <br />accordance with labor agreement, Mr. Martin is authorized a compensatory time pay out <br />totaling $767.59.
