Mounds View City Council January 3, 2017 <br />Regular Meeting Page 2 <br /> <br />7. COUNCIL BUSINESS 1 <br />A. Resolution 8687, Selection of the Acting Mayor, Treasurer, and Official 2 <br />Depositories for 2017. 3 <br /> 4 <br />Assistant City Administrator Crane requested the Council select an Acting Mayor, Treasurer, 5 <br />Official Newspaper and Official Depository for 2017. It was noted the Sun Focus (primary) and 6 <br />the Pioneer Press (secondary) has served as the City’s official newspaper in the past. 7 <br /> 8 <br />Council Member Gunn stated she was willing to serve as the Acting Mayor. 9 <br /> 10 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Meehlhause/Hull. To Appoint Council Member Sherry Gunn as Acting 11 <br />Mayor for 2017. 12 <br /> 13 <br /> Ayes – 4 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 14 <br /> 15 <br />Council Member Meehlhause recommended the Sun Focus remain the City’s primary newspaper. 16 <br /> 17 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Meehlhause/Gunn. To Recommend the Sun Focus be selected as the 18 <br />City’s primary newspaper. 19 <br /> 20 <br /> Ayes – 4 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 21 <br /> 22 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Gunn/Hull. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 8687, Selection 23 <br />of the Acting Mayor, Treasurer, and Official Depositories for 2017. 24 <br /> 25 <br /> Ayes – 4 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 26 <br /> 27 <br />B. Resolution 8688, Appointing City Council Members and City Staff as 28 <br />Representatives for City Commissions and Other Organizations. 29 <br /> 30 <br />Assistant City Administrator Crane stated the Council appoints members and staff as 31 <br />representatives for City Commissions and other organizations on a yearly basis. She reviewed 32 <br />the appointments and requested input from the City Council. 33 <br /> 34 <br />Mayor Mueller reported she was willing to continue to serve on the Ramsey County League of 35 <br />Local Government. 36 <br /> 37 <br />Council Member Gunn stated she would act as the representative for the Blaine/Mounds View 38 <br />Spring Lake Park Fire Board. 39 <br /> 40 <br />Council Member Hull and Council Member Meehlhause would both serve on the Human 41 <br />Resources Committee. 42 <br /> 43 <br />Council Member Meehlhause indicated he could continue as the representative for the Minnesota 44 <br />North Metro Tourism Board. 45
