Past recipients of this award include: <br /> <br />2004: David Jahnke <br />2005: Frank Silvis <br />2006: Ed Lanz <br />2007: Don Hodges <br />2008: Barbara Haake <br />2009: Diane Wuori <br />2010: Jean Miller <br />2011: Jerry Skelly <br />2012: Greg Belting <br />2013: Gary Stevenson <br />2014: Theresa Cermak <br />2015: Gordy and Paul Fedor of Fedor’s Market <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Discussion: <br /> <br />At the January 2016 Work Session, the City Council discussed the criteria/eligibility requirements for <br />Citizen of the Year. During this Work Session, it was the consensus of the City Council to revise the <br />eligibility requirements in order to allow non-business owners and non-residents, who have <br />contributed generously to the City, to be nominated. Attached is the Citizen of the Year Nomination <br />form, which outlines the eligibility and criteria for you review. The nomination form will be on the on <br />the City’s website on February 7, 2017, and the deadline for submitting nomination forms will be on <br />Friday, March 3, 2017, at 4:30pm. <br /> <br />Below is the timeline for applications and City Council approval. Staff will advertise on the City’s <br />website, City’s Facebook page, and submit press releases to the Sun Focus and the Bulletin. <br /> <br />Applications Available at City Hall & on the City Website: Tuesday, February 7, 2017 <br />Applications due to Assistant City Administrator: Friday, March 3, 2017 <br />Applications to the City Council for Review: Monday, March 6, 2017 (WS) <br />2016 Citizen of the Year Awarded by City Council Resolution: Monday, March 13, 2017 <br />(Council Meeting) <br />2016 Citizen of the Year Award Recipient Contacted: Tuesday, March 17, 2017 <br />2015 Citizenship Award Plaque Ordered: Tuesday, March 17, 2017 <br />2015 Citizenship Award Presented to Recipient: Monday, March 20, 2017
