Due to the Police Chief’s resignation, the City needs to <br />designate an Interim Police Chief. <br /> <br /> <br />Discussion: <br /> <br />It is recommended to appoint Deputy Police Chief Steve Menard as Interim Police Chief <br />until a new Police Chief is hired. To compensate Deputy Police Chief Menard for these <br />additional responsibilities, Staff would recommend following the City’s policy approved <br />by the Council, in accordance with Resolution 5626, which would warrant an additional <br />10% compensation. Deputy Police Chief Steve Menard would start as Interim Police <br />Chief effective April 30, 2016, and end when a new Police Chief is hired on or about the <br />end of June. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />Staff recommends approving Resolution 8555, Appointing Deputy Police Chief Steve <br />Menard as Interim Police Chief, and authorizing an additional 10% salary <br />compensation. <br /> <br /> <br />Respectfully submitted, <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Desaree Crane <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
