RESOLUTION NO. 8561 <br /> <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />APPROVE CONSULTANT TO PERFORM DESIGN SERVICES RELATED TO THE <br />PUBLIC WORKS FACILITY <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council adopted Resolution 8524 on February 22, 2016, <br />accepting the Public Works Facility space needs study; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council adopted Resolution 8533 on March 14, 2016, <br />approving the request for proposals and authorizing advertisement seeking design <br />services related to the Public Works Facility; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Engineer forwarded the approved request for proposals to <br />five consultants; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, two responses to the request for proposals were received by the <br />deadline; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a selection panel consisting of the City Engineer and two other staff <br />members evaluated the proposals; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Oertel Architects was selected as the highest rated firm for providing <br />design service. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by City Council of the City of Mounds <br />View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: <br /> <br />1. Oertel Architects is authorized to perform design services and prepare bidding <br />documents for the Public Works Facility (City Project No. 2017-C02). <br />Compensation will be on an hourly basis plus reimbursable expenses with an <br />estimated maximum fee of $247,860.00. <br /> <br />2. The Mayor and City Administrator are authorized to execute all appropriate <br />documents and enter into a professional services agreement, for and on behalf of <br />the City, with Oertel Architects to effectuate the actions contemplated by this <br />Resolution. <br /> <br />3. A contingency of $12,000 (5%) is approved for additional work or tests needed <br />during the performance of the design services and requires pre-approval by the <br />Director of Public Works. <br />
