Applicable Sections of the City Code <br /> <br />1102.02: DEFINITIONS: <br /> <br />Subd. 42. DWELLING, SINGLE-FAMILY: A detached dwelling unit designed <br />exclusively for occupancy by one (1) family. <br /> <br />Subd. 43. DWELLING, TWO-FAMILY: A dwelling designed exclusively for <br />occupancy by two (2) families living independently of each other, also known as <br />double bungalow, duplex, side-by-side two (2)-family dwellings. <br /> <br />Subd. 44. DWELLING UNIT: Residential accommodation, including complete <br />kitchen facilities, permanently installed, which are arranged, designed, used or <br />intended for use exclusively as living quarters for one (1) family and not more than <br />an aggregate of two (2) roomers or boarders. Where a private garage is structurally <br />attached, it shall be considered as a part of the building in which the dwelling unit is <br />located. <br /> <br />Subd. 47. FAMILY: One (1) or more persons, each related to the other by blood, <br />marriage or adoption, or a group of not more than four (4) persons not all so related, <br />together with their domestic servants or gratuitous guests, maintaining a common <br />household and using common cooking and kitchen facilities. <br /> <br />1103.02: DWELLING UNIT RESTRICTIONS: <br /> <br />Subd. 1. No cellar, garage, tent, recreational vehicle, travel trailer or accessory <br />building shall at any time be used as an independent residence or dwelling unit, <br />temporarily or permanently. <br /> <br />1106.03: [PERMITTED] ACCESSORY USES [R-1, Single-Family Residential District]: <br /> <br />Subd. 6. Boarding: Boarding or renting of rooms to not more than one (1) person.
