Grants were requested to fund the existing Housing Replacement Program <br /> and proposed Interest Subsidized Home Improvement Loan Program and Crime Free <br /> Multi-Housing Certification Grant Program. <br /> Ramsey County_ <br /> On April 27th, the Ramsey County Board formally approved Mounds View's grant <br /> requests for the Housing Replacement Program (HRP) and the Crime Free Multi- <br /> Housing Grant Program (applied jointly with the City of New Brighton). Mounds View <br /> applied for a $150,000 grant for the HRP and was awarded $75,000. Both Mounds <br /> View and New Brighton received the entire grant request of$25,000 for the Crime Free <br /> Multi-Housing Certification Grant Program. Mounds View was the only suburban <br /> Ramsey County city to apply for Community Development Block Grants this year. <br /> Minnesota Housing finance Agency <br /> The MHFA Board recently reviewed and selected proposals for funding. Mounds View <br /> submitted two separate grant requests; $150,000 to supplement the Housing <br /> Replacement Program and $70,000 to provide interest subsidies for an existing Home <br /> Improvement Loan Program. Both applications were denied. <br /> PROGRAM IMPLIMENTATION <br /> Ramsey County CDBG grant funds will become available on July 1, 1999. Staff will <br /> continue to work with the County to finalize each program's criteria prior to <br /> implementation. Mounds View's HRP will be able to access $75,000 for single family <br /> scattered site acquisition and clearance of buildings for redevelopment purposes. The <br /> grant will require that at least 51% of persons benefiting from the created housing <br /> qualify as low-moderate income or having a household income of less $51,000 for a <br /> family of four. <br />
