CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW, <br /> MINNESOTA <br /> GOAL-SETTING SESSION <br /> FOLLOW-UP MEETING <br /> April 20, 1999 <br /> INTRODUCTION <br /> On April 20, 1999, the Mounds View City Council and Management Team defined <br /> preliminary Goals and Management Action Plans(MAPs)to support the visions developed <br /> during a workshop conducted in March. The items listed below represent the preliminary <br /> Goals statements and Management Action Plans(MAPs)for the City and Council of Mounds <br /> View. <br /> II. PROPOSED GOALS AND MANAGEMENT ACTION PLANS (MAPs) <br /> Attachment A to this report contains an overview of a strategic leadership and goal-setting <br /> process that form the basis for constructing the visions at the March workshop and the <br /> proposed Goals at the April 20, 1999,workshop. <br /> A. Proposed Goals. <br /> The following proposed goals were put forth by the Council and Management Team <br /> members in attendance. These goals represent statements of proposed leadership <br /> direction and priority that will guide Council decision making,staff performance,and <br /> budget allocations for the City of Mounds View. Once the goal statements were <br /> proposed,the participants were asked to select in a"forced choice"nominal group <br /> exercise, those goals which were seen as High-Priority Goals for the City. The <br /> goals listed below with an asterisk next to the number are those that were identified <br /> by the Council members in attendance as having,or likely to obtain,majority support <br /> from Council members as High-Priority Goals for the City and Council. The <br /> number of Council members in attendance (3) and Staff members in attendance <br /> supporting the goal as a possible High-Priority Goal is indicated in parenthesis after <br /> the proposed goal statement. <br /> 1.* Facilitate community/citizen groups for purposes of disseminating <br /> information and garnering input prior to official Council action. (Council <br /> Members -2; Staff Members -4) <br /> 2. Have Council/Staff commit to a long-term vision and revisit that vision on <br /> 1 <br />
