In the interest of public participation,the Mayor and City Council have indicated <br /> that an ordinance change is in order to change the number of members to nine. <br /> Municipal Code Chapter 401.02,Subd. 1, Planning and Zoning Commission, <br /> Membership; Terms states: <br /> Subd. 1 1. Appointed Members: The Planning and Zoning Commission shall consist of not less <br /> than seven(7)members nor more than nine(9)members from the resident <br /> population of Mounds View, other than persons elected to a public <br /> body,to be appointed by the Mayor with the approval of the City Council;from <br /> applications submitted. The appointees shall have three(3)year staggered terms; <br /> at least two(2)of these terms,but not more than three(3)terms,shall expire each <br /> year on December 31. Based upon the recommendation of the Planning and <br /> Zoning Commission,the Mayor,with the approval of the City Council,shall <br /> appoint a chairperson. <br /> The proposed language change is as follows: <br /> Subd. 1 1.
