Item Title/Subject: Consideration of Pathways Construction bids Date of Report: August 4, 1999 Staff advertised and received bids for the construction of pathways at Silver View Park and County Rd. I. The bids are as follows: Contractor Phase 1 Phase 2 Phase 3 Total Bid Bituminous Roadways $49,000 $25,500 $12,300 $86,800.00 Barber Construction $56,880 $33,280 $4,130 $95,290.00 Frattalone Paving $65,072 $42,140 $21,170 $128,382.00 W.B. Miller $80,175 $38,150 $20,750 $139,075.00 Daily & Sons $99,208 $68,564 $29,197 $196,969.00 Staff presented this item for Council review at the August 2, 1999 work session. Staff recommends award to the low bidder, Bituminous Roadways for a total of$86,800.00. Phase 1 and 3 will be funded from the Parks Budget with a transfer of funds from the Park Dedication . fund. Phase 3 may be reduced through some negotiation with the contractor for eliminating part of the culvert replacement that might be performed by an outside contractor. Phase 2 will be funded from the Streets Pavement Management budget capital account. ichael Ulrich, P erector of Public Works RECOMMENDATION: Council award the construction the pathways to Bituminous Roadways for the total bid amount of$86,800.00, with$61,300.00 being funded from the Parks Capital Account 100-4360-7050, with said amount transferred from the Parks Dedication Fund, $25,500.00 funded from Streets, Pavement Management budget acct. no. 100-4470-7050 and authorize the Public Works Director to sign all change orders up to 10% of the total project amount.
