General Construction: The following procedure and specifications shall be <br /> required for all gravel, concrete or asphalt driveway construction from streets to <br /> private garages: <br /> a. Excavation: The driveway shall be excavated to remove all black dirt from the <br /> area to be surfaced. <br /> b. Drainage Provisions: The driveway shall be constructed so as to provide <br /> drainage from the garage to the street unless a variance is granted by the Building <br /> Inspector2. <br /> Subd. 2. Gravel Construction: After initial excavation, the driveway construction shall <br /> consist of a minimum of four inches (4") of Class 2 crushed rock (3/4" down) <br /> compacted in place. <br /> Subd. 3. Concrete Construction: <br /> a. After initial excavation, the driveway shall be backfilled with Class 4 base <br /> material, compacted in place, to an elevation four inches (4") below the finished <br /> surface grade of the driveway. <br /> b. The driveway construction shall consist of a minimum of four inches (4") of three <br /> thousand five hundred(3,500)pound mix,four inch(4") slump with air. <br /> Subd. 4. Asphalt Construction: <br /> a. After initial excavation, the driveway shall be backfilled with Class 4 base <br /> material, compacted in place, to an elevation four inches (4") below the finished <br /> surface grade of the driveway. <br /> b.
