Necessary Skills and Abilities: <br /> (A) Possess knowledge of uniform building codes and electrical codes, plumbing codes, <br /> mechanical codes,general construction codes,and a knowledge of carpentry work. Possess <br /> knowledge in electrical work, cement work, or plumbing, and skill in applying knowledge <br /> of national uniform building codes, zoning and land use applications. Knowledge of <br /> methods,materials,terminology and practices in general building construction. Knowledge <br /> of laws governing mining and general building construction. <br /> (B) Ability to establish effective working relationships with contractors,developers, architects, <br /> engineers, owners, developers, the general public and city personnel. Ability to read and <br /> understand complicated plans and blueprints. Ability to communicate effectively orally and <br /> in writing. <br /> (C) A valid state driver's license or ability to obtain one by start of employment. <br /> (D) One or more I.C.B.0 certifications,including but not limited to plans examiner,combination <br /> inspector.
