LESS EXTENSIVE THAN THE PREVIOUS <br /> EXAMPLE.] <br /> DISCIPLINE <br /> The purpose of this section is to state the City of 's position on administering <br /> equitable and consistent discipline for unsatisfactory conduct in the workplace. <br /> Employees shall be subject to disciplinary action for failing to fulfill their duties and <br /> responsibilities. The C'ity's own best interests lie in ensuring fair treatment of all <br /> employees and in making certain that disciplinary actions are prompt, uniform, and <br /> impartial. The primary purposes of any disciplinary action are to correct the problem, <br /> prevent recurrence,and prepare the employee for satisfactory service in the future. <br /> The City may use progressive discipline at its discretion. Progressive discipline means <br /> that,with respect to most disciplinary problems. the following steps will usually be <br /> followed: (1) oral reprimand; (2)written reprimand; (3) suspension without pay; (4) <br /> dismissal.
