JOINT AND COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT <br /> • NORTH METRO BUSINESS RETENTION <br /> AND DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION <br /> The parties to this agreement are governmental units of the State of Minnesota. This <br /> agreement is made and entered into pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, 1990, Sections 471.59 and <br /> 469.101. sd.5. <br /> ARTICLE I. GENERAL PURPOSE <br /> The general purpose of this agreement is to create an organization by which the parties <br /> may jointly and cooperatively provide for the data collection and analysis, development of <br /> strategic recommendations and implementation of marketing and promotional programs for the <br /> purpose of economic development job creation and retention of existing businesses pursuant to <br /> Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 469. <br /> • ARTICLE H. DEFINITIONS <br /> Section 1. For purposes of this agreement the terms defined in this Article have the <br /> meanings given them. <br /> Section 2. "Act" means Minnesota Statutes, 1990, Chapter 469. <br /> Section 3. "Agreement" means this agreement. <br /> Section 4. "Board" means the Board of Directors created by Article III. <br /> Section 5. "Director" means a director or alternate director appointed under Article III of <br /> this agreement. <br /> Section 6. "Governing body" means the City Council or other governing body of a <br /> member. <br /> Section 7. "Governmental unit" means a home rule city, a statutory city, a housing and <br /> redevelopment authority, or an economic development authority. <br /> Section 8. "Member" means a governmental unit which is a party to this agreement and <br /> is in compliance with and in good standing under this agreement. <br /> Section 9. The "North Metro Business Retention and Development Commission" (RDC) <br /> IIImeans the organization established by this agreement. <br />
