The study includes in-depth information regarding the hotel demand and market trends in Mounds View and the surrounding areas ofArden Hills, Blaine,'Columbia Heights, Coon Rapids, Fridley, Lino Lakes, New Brighton, Roseville,Shoreview, SLP, St. Anthony and Vadnais Heights. In addition, the study identifies primary and secondary competitors and estimates the costs and design of the proposed facility. • • For a project of this size to be a reality it is imperative to have community support. Mr. Hall has asked,that the EDA support the concept and allow staff to assist in his effortsto attract developers/investor,for the project. Clearly, a hotel/conference facility of this magnitude would be a;fantastic enhancement to the community as it would provide jobs and increase the tax base for the City. ,Not only will the center attract visitors from aroundthe nation, but with the demand. generated from the National Sports Center Mounds View could be a destination for international guests. In addition, there would be a positive economic Impact for several existing businesses in Mounds View such as-restaurants, service stations, mini market and other convenience item stores. I have prepared a resolution of support for your consideration. >I will work closely with Mr. Hall to • proactively Identify quality developer/investors for the project and keep he council and community informed as the project begins to unfold.
