Item No. <br /> Staff Report No. <br /> Meeting Date: 9/8/98 <br /> Type of Business: WK <br /> WK: Work Session;PH:Public Hearing; <br /> CA:Consent Agenda; CB:Council Business <br /> City of Mounds View Staff Report <br /> To: Mayor and City Council <br /> From: Rick Jopke, Community Development Director <br /> Item Title/Subject: Presentation by the Hoisington Koegler Group of Their <br /> Recommendations for a Highway 10 Design Theme <br /> Date of Report: September 3, 1998 <br /> Summary: <br /> The City has contracted with the consulting firm of Hoisington Koegler Group to study and make <br /> recommendations concerning the creation of a design theme for the Highway 10 corridor. <br /> Hoisington Koegler Group staff met earlier this year with a work group of Mounds View <br /> residents and business reresentatives to get input about what would be important in a design <br /> theme to reflect the character and identity of Mounds View. The work group also reviewed <br /> preliminary design theme alternatives. Input was also received from MnDOT and Ramsey <br /> County staff. <br /> Representatives from the Hoisington Koegler Group will be present at the September 8, 1998 <br /> work session to present and discuss with the City Council the details of a design theme they have <br /> come up with for the Highway 10 corridor. They also will have preliminary cost estimates. <br /> Future Actions: <br /> It is anticipated that the final design will be adopted as part of the City's comprehensive plan. <br /> The Hoisington Koegler Group will develop design standards for the corridor for City <br /> consideration which could be put in the City Code to insure that private development along the <br /> corridor occurs consistent with and helps implement the design theme. <br /> Recommendation: <br /> This matter is brought to the Council for informational purposes only. <br /> Rick Jopke, Co unity Development Director <br /> N:\DATA\USERS\RICKJO\SHARE\96981 DST.RPT <br />
